Oasap Swallow Sweater

Sweater--c/o Oasap
Skirt ($5)--Target
Boots--Mom's

I was so happy to receive this sweater in the mail last Friday! It was surprising that the package was so small, but inside was this cute little yellow sweater with swallows on it. I've always wanted a sweater with birds on it and my wish was finally granted. I love the smooth and stretchy material--this piece is great for school or a day out on the weekend. The best part? The collar is detachable! A trendy and fancier sweater can easily be transformed into a comfy weekend staple. Thanks Oasap!
On another note--the snow finally melted so I could take photos with grass! Unfortunately, it didn't last long and the freezing temperatures and snow are back. I can't wait until spring.

Matthew 6:34 (my very favorite verse! It reassures me when I'm feeling anxious)
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Twist and Tulle

Glasses--c/o Firmoo
Dress ($10)--Target
Cardigan ($4)--thrifted H&M
Belt ($3)--Forever 21
Shoes--Mom's

My glasses from Firmoo came in a couple of weeks ago and was so happy with the fun frames! Hurry on over there and check them out—they have a first pair free program; all you have to pay is $7 shipping!
I even pulled out a fancy dress but dressed it down with leggings and a cardigan. This is a great sports dress up outfit or feeling-fancy outfit for school. Mint and pink, of course, is my favorite combo this season. I hope you're not too tired of it yet haha (:

Bright Colors and Bold Prints

Sweater ($15)--Marshall's
Jeans ($10)--American Rag
Boots ($10)--American Eagle
Bag ($5)--Lulu's

I wasn’t sure how I felt about this tribal print sweater when I saw it at Marshall’s, but after thinking about it, I came back a week later and bought the last one. For only $15 and made by American Eagle, I’d say it was a pretty good buy. I love the fun colors and the only thing that would make it better is if it had longer , more form-fitting sleeves. This look is completely bohemian, and I even pulled out my worn fringe bag for old times sake.
I think I'm going to start posting what occasion I wore my looks for because I want my photos to be as genuine as possible. I want my blog style to be my real style and not something separate from everyday life. I would wear this sweater to school, but it's still too cold! I couldn't get as many photos because I was freezing to death haha. Midwest weather, I tell you... Hope you all are staying warm!

Dancing in the Snow

Necklace ($5.50)--Macy's
Sweater--Mom's
Skirt ($9)--LC Lauren Conrad
Shoes--Mom's

I almost jumped up and down when I saw this necklace at Macy’s for only $5.50! I love how peter pan collars add a trendy-vintage touch to any outfit and I had been on the look for one for a long time, so I snatched this up right away. Macy’s was having 75% off jewelry—I’d hurry on over there fast to check it out. I picked up some other great deals that I can’t wait to show you. Oh, I just keep adding to my large collection of versatile gold jewelry. What can I say? I love a bargain.
XOXO,
Lily

Skating Skirt and Sketchbook Swirls

Sweater ($4)--thrifted J.Crew
Scarf ($2)--China
Skirt ($8)--Wet Seal
Socks ($2)--grocery store
Boots ($10)--grocery store

I felt like a figure skater when I braved the cold to take photos. This black skirt is such a versatile staple—I usually wear it for orchestra concerts but that chilly winter day I thought it was a fun addition to this trendy look. I even wore socks under my combat boots to keep my toes warm haha. The best deal in this ensemble was probably my thrifted sweater. If I’m not mistaken, J.Crew is a pretty pricey brand and I scored this comfy sweater for only $4! I think I’m addicted to deals. But you know what they say: I’m not a shopaholic, I’m just a clothes collector. I love it!
I even pulled out the old dusty sketchbook over winter break to play around with a few designs. Let me know what you think!

XOXO,

Lily

Glitz and Gold

Dress ($6)--Forever 21
Skirt ($8)--Wet Seal
Bag ($6)--thrifted Target
Flats ($5)--Target

I am one of the most frugal fashion enthusiasts you will ever meet and this dress is probably one of the best deals I’ve ever scored. When I saw it on the clearance rack at Forever 21, my eyes widened and I quickly snatched it up. It was only SIX DOLLARS. I have a huge thing for gold and sequins, so this dress was definitely a keeper. It’s normally body hugging, but I added my favorite flouncy skirt on top to make it more playful. This would've been the perfect New Year’s Eve look for a glamorous night out that only exists in my imagination haha.

I also added a new feature to my sidebar--I decided to do a favorite comment of the week post to encourage more genuine comments. Copy and paste or one word comments have become so common and they take away the sincerity and bonding that can come with reading blogs. It makes me sad. With a sort of incentive, you lovelies get a chance to be featured for being sincere and I get to read more comments that make me smile. Fingers crossed it works (:

Happy New Year!

XOXO,

Lily
