Oh my goodness. This is my first snow day in two years. Hallelujah!
This look was much more trendy than I intended--I wanted to wear my mom's vintagey boots, but it turns out that she had beat me to them that day haha! It was for the best though, because I got to show off my bargain riding boots--I scored them for only $10 at Old Navy!
I felt guilty for spending around $40 there that day (I am wayyy too cheap haha), but it was just as well because it was the last time I seriously went shopping before Lent.
Though I am a non-denominational Christian and my church does not celebrate Lent, I choose to give up shopping every year. It's a great way to get creative, save money, and grow closer to God! I started this tradition two years ago and though I didn't last my freshman year, I am glad to say that I made it last year. Fingers crossed that I can do it again!
Good news: the green light is on for a DSLR camera! I'm scouring the web for a Canon T1i now.
Pants, Kohl's ($7) // Sweatshirt, Myrtle Beach ($5)// Boots, Old Navy ($10)// Necklace, Macy's ($5)
I also stumbled across a chic online shop called eFoxcity.com! From cute sweaters to elegant dresses, they carry a huge variety of pieces. A plus? Their clothes are also largely inexpensive. They have cheap sweaters--the darling one with sweet bows below is only $14! Many of their dresses are even under $20. They also carry cheap black dresses and cheap evening dresses and cheap emmy dresses (not cheaply made, mind you--just bargain prices haha). I picked out some of my favorites to share:
Have a lovely weekend!
I wish you luck on getting through with your shopping ban!! Haha, we can be on one together. ;) It really is a great way to get creative with your wardrobe... and, you know, make you wear some of that stuff you forgot you bought, haha.
ReplyDeleteI like those floral jeans so much, and that necklace is suer pretty with them!
Also, those are precious clothes you picked out, Lily! You would pick out the pretty pastel ones, hehe :) I adore that lace white dress myself--the sleeves are lovely!

This is one of your prettiest outfits since I first started coming to this blog. Those boots look wonderful. The boots with the floral pants are a great combination. More than ever, you blossom beautifully with style. As for the dresses and the skirt, what more can I say- those are beautiful (even the lady wearing the short lace dress).

You are adorable! I love the printed jeans and boots! I can't believe you scored them for $10! What a steal!
ReplyDeleteGiving up shopping for Lent is a great idea. I love that you mention it allows you to get crafty and grow closer to God. I am a Christian as well, but my church doesn't celebrate Lent. I think next year, I might just have to try your shopping ban. Thanks for the awesome idea and inspiration!

You look great! I love your pants, this is the perfect outfit for spring! kisses chris
ReplyDeleteHaha, when I read about how you felt guilty for spending $40 at Old Navy, I felt complete empathy with you. I hate spending more than $20 at once on clothing - it feels like too much! We're both just cheapos I guess. Good luck with Lent, I think that's a great idea!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I just want to say that I'm happy to know another Christian fashion blogger :D
Especially one with such fun, colorful outfits. Those floral pants are just amazing!
