Impromptu: NYC Day 2

Day 2 was definitely my favorite--not only because our group stumbled upon a Belgian waffle food cart on our spontaneous trek to Brooklyn Bridge, but also because we tackled the 36 questions that went viral with Mandy Catron's essay "To Fall in Love with Anyone, Do This."

For us, the point wasn't to fall in love, but to simply get to know one another better--our small group was composed of friends and friends of friends, so it was an effective way to connect.

While I'd love to wrestle with vulnerability and love and friendship in this post, I'll have to save my thoughts for another day. The next few updates will be shorter and more focused on photos because my challenge for the next week and a half is to maneuveur through this pileup of essay deadlines and midterm dates. I venture that it'll be even trickier, more frustrating, and more overwhelming than driving in Manhattan, but I'll keep pushing till I can cruise on clear roads.

  1. Your outfit is SO CUTE. And I'm kind of dying over those waffles. Yum!

  2. Good luck with your essays and midterms! :)

On an outfit note, I really like the lace with the printed blazer, it's a nice combination. And that waffle looks delicious! :)

  3. what a backdrop for those outfit photos! awesome! and what a romantic ensemble. I love the print on your dress, the floral blazer and definitely the brown bag. I think that shade of brown looks perfect next to romantic florals. it's such a great look overall. oh and that delicious thing covered in chocolate is amazing!!! I know it's a waffle, not "a thing" but it doesn't change the fact I would love to have one right now :P it was such a cool post, Lily, and I will definitely read about your day 1 too, I'm just very behind with everything that comes to blogging right now.

  4. Aw, thank you Mica! You're always so sweet.

  5. No worries, Maiken! I know exactly that feeling of falling behind. Just happy to see you stop by :) Thank you for your kind words and encouragement, as always!

  6. The floral jacket is my favorite element of this outfit, and I also like the scarf and the handbag. Considering it is Spring, you blossom beautifully with this stylish outfit. You're certainly a beautiful flower especially for someone named after a kind of flower. Great pictures of New York City as well.

  7. Thanks for the huge wave of feedback, John! I always appreciate your insightful words.
